It's so hard to build a relationship (with readers, here) and so easy ruin it with one single blow, be it accidental or just a misunderstanding.
Btw - I think the large majority of the problem was the title. Other than that the article says what you meant it to say.
You've cleared it out as best you can, and all will be forgotten soon anyway, so don't feel down.
