Getting Ready to Hit the Road and First Plans

Getting ready for this journey has been different than the previous ones. I am actually going to continue working. I can run my venture, Colnect, from wherever in the world a good Internet connection is available at. My physical presence at one location or another is almost completely irrelevant to Colnect. I will, however, use the chance to meet with collectors and attend collector fairs where it would be possible.

To become a nomad I have sold many of my earthly possessions but have purchased these three items to accompany my digitized life:
* A shiny new laptop which will now be the main machine from which to run the whole operation.
* A smart phone that will allow me to use mobile Internet wherever a WiFi network won't be available.
* A new camera with X35 optical zoom that would be used to record this journey and Frognector's experiences from the road.

Oh, if you don't know Frognector yet, you should definitely watch this video:

Luggage-wise I've made the decision to have with me ONLY A SINGLE SMALL BACKPACK. No suitcase, no big backpack, no useless stuff that would hold me back. I hope that would work out well. Guitar? I previously traveled with a guitar but it was always one I bought on the journey so wait and see which guitar I'd get this time :)

Destinations

Personally, I think it's always about the people and not about the places. Some good places make people better and some places just have better people and more interesting things to see but I'll start in the UK anyway. London is surely an interesting cosmopolitan city but I've seen enough of it in the past. I start there to visit a good friend I haven't seen in a long while. Here are a few pictures I've taken there 2 years ago:

I'll continue to explore Iceland. I'm also getting there to meet a good friend I haven't seen in years and looking forward to exploring this cold island. Some time later there will be a big collectors convention in Prague where Colnect will present. Aside from that all options are still open.

Prelude: Soon to Hit the Road (AGAIN)

Greeting dear people,

PAAM SHLISHIT GLIDA פעם שלישית גלידה

It's an expression in Hebrew which literally means "Third time ice-cream". Explaining what the great mind creating that expression actually meant is beyond the scope of this blog. But it's a third time. I mean, a third travel blog for my next real nomadic period.

Formerly I've spent about a year in South America and 1.5 years in Asia. Though http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifnot updated regularly, seems my travel blogs have provided an interesting read at times to people who actually cared to learn that I've not been devoured by lions or contracted some fatal STD.

This blog will be kind of an email replacement where I might occasionally update on my whereabouts and what I've been up to. I'll try to stick to the more interesting things that may actually interest people who know me and care (at least to some level) about me.

Here are pictures taken recently from the apartment I'd now be leaving:

Feel free to add your comments on this blog and I'll feel free to erase the ones I don't like.
